Strategy Club 
Michael Hagans, Instructor
Strategy Club is a time for learning logic, wisdom, and good sportsmanship for students from 4th grade through 12th. We use board games to learn such strategic ideas as planning, knowing your opponent as well as yourself, knowing your own strengths and weaknesses, and focusing on what is important rather than getting lost in the minutiae. Learning from our mistakes, congratulating our opponents, being gracious in victory, and having the versatility to change our plans when they are upset by others, are all important in Strategy Club. Logic is highly emphasized. In other words, we aim to put into practice Jesus’ command to be wise as serpents, yet harmless as doves. Club meets on Fridays after school.
Drama Club
Drama club allows students to explore these truths by collaborating with others, forming a character from a script, and diving into the heart and character of a play. Our creative and collaborative environment has led to classic productions such as Shakespeare’s The Tempest, and more modern productions such as Peter Pan: One Act and Search for Delicious. Drama Club’s production of Peter Pan won accolades at GAPPS Regional Competition where it achieved a 2nd place finish and advanced to the state competition. At Covenant, we strive to perform quality productions of both classical and modern productions giving all students an opportunity to experience the joys of theatre.
Robotics/Lego Club
Chess Club
Chess Club is a wonderful opportunity for our students to practice and develop logic, strategy, and attention to details all while collaborating with other students. Our club encourages students of all levels of experience to work together and grow in their knowledge of the game. Not only do students learn the game of chess, but our club teaches them to compete in a way that honors their team, their school, and the Lord. In Spring 2026, our chess club competed in its first competition. Our students relished the opportunity to compete and fellowship with other chess teams and left eager to compete again. Through the mentorship of a Covenant teacher, chess club continues to be a welcoming place for all students to gain knowledge of the game of chess while learning valuable lessons that will benefit them throughout their lives.
Choir
At CCS, we encourage all students to “make a joyful noice to the Lord,” (Psalm 100:1). We strive to raise men and women who boldly sing praises to the Lord. At Covenant, all students in Logic and Rhetoric attend weekly choir classes where they are instructed in four part harmony. Our upper school choirs have the opportunity to showcase their talents at A Covenant Christmas and other community events. The highlight for many is the Southeast Choral Festival where 9th – 12th grade students join other classical Christian schools for a day of fellowship, dancing, and a joint choir concert. Covenant also mentors soloists and small groups through performance opportunities and competitions such as the GAPPS Literary Day.
Art

At Covenant, we want our students to marvel in the beauty which God has created. Through weekly art classes, our grammar and logic students study the great artists and focus on various art techniques. Students in Rhetoric school, who wish to pursue further art classes, may choose art as an elective. God has gifted all of our students with various gifts and talents, and for those students who wish to showcase their work , CCS offers many unique opportunities. Covenant artists participate in the Christmas card competition and Covenant Christmas Market, community art shows, Spring School-wide Art Show, and the GAPPS visual art competition. Our art department encourages our students to be inspired by God’s creation and pursue truth, goodness, and beauty through art.
Speech
Covenant’s Portrait of a Graduate states that we desire for students graduating from our school to “speak and write with wisdom and eloquence.” While our logic and rhetoric classes continually shape this area within our students, many wish to hone their speaking skills through competitive speech. We encourage and mentor these speakers through our participation in two speech leagues, GAPPS and NCFCA. Students are given the opportunity to focus on a specific speech style such as interpretation, persuasive speaking, or extemporaneous speaking. Many of our students have earned first, second and third place finishes at GAPPS regional competitions, advancing on to regional and state competitions. CCS desires to build eloquent speakers who can boldly proclaim the gospel.
