There’s an old proverb that says, “A society grows great when old men plant trees under whose shade they will never sit.”
On Grandpals Day 2025, this quote hung in the air as we welcomed 175 Grandparents and Great Grandparents to our campus. We were reminded that Covenant is a sturdy Oak Tree, planted almost 50 years ago by in faith by a few families. Covenant has seen storm after storm, seasons of plenty and seasons of lack, we have stood tall through hurricanes, and pandemics, we have prayed together through great loss and great wins, but in all of these we have remained rooted in the faithfulness of the Lord and His promises.
For nearly half a century, this school has been a place where students can excel academically but have also been shaped by the truth of God’s Word. As one of our Heritage Seniors stated, “I have seen walls go up and walls come down. I have seen teachers come and go. And through it all Covenant has shaped me into a better person, set apart from my peers.”
Following the examples of those original families, we must remember that what we invest in today—through prayer, time, and resources—will shape the next 50 years. The students we pour into now will become the leaders, teachers, pastors, and parents of tomorrow. Just as we have benefited from the sacrifices of the generations before us, so to must we invest in the vision of Covenant for those coming after us.

Grandpals Day 2025 was one for the record books and certainly worthy of revisiting time and time again.
